Runwell Horticultural Association was founded in 1944, with the purpose of getting together Runwell Parishioners with an interest in gardening and to provide them somewhere to meet and learn /discuss issues around gardening. We are affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and receive updates, correspondence and discounted admission to RHS gardens. We currently have around 80 household members who live mainly in the Runwell area, and we meet on the second Monday of the month at 8.00pm in the Runwell Village Hall, Church End Lane with arranged speakers who talk on various aspects of gardening.

We raise money for Essex Air Ambulance through the sales of plants, home made jams, and books at the meetings and shows.

There is a well stocked Trading Hut with compost, growmore, Fish blood and bone, canes, pest control items, fleece, bubble wrap, horticultural grit, string, Maxicrop, Rose Fertilizer, Potash, etc ( the list is endless), which is open from February through to August when it is closed for one month and re-opens in September for one month. The hut closes for the months of October, November, December and January: the hours of opening are 10.00am to 12.00am.
